10,000 tickets have been sold

(Oslo, 18 January 2010) 10,000 tickets have now been sold for the FIS World Cup to be held at Holmenkollen on 13-14 March 2010. Sunday is the most popular so far.

The World Cup includes seven events with jumping at the Holmenkollen Ski Jump on both Saturday and Sunday. Both the cross-country and men’s Nordic combined skiers and jumpers will all be in action – just weeks after competing in the Olympics in Vancouver.

Lots of tickets available
Approximately 6,000 day passes have been sold for Sunday’s events, while the remaining 4,000 are day passes for Saturday. The tickets have been sold to a mix of sponsors, partners and the public.
“We are seeing great interest among the public considering that are still many weeks left. Many are curious about the arena and the cross-country skiers led by Northug are really a magnet now,” says World Championships CEO Åsne Havnelid.
Total spectator capacity is 10,000 on both Saturday and Sunday.
Better than on TV
Havnelid hopes that people will want to see Holmenkollen and the athletes live.
“There will be excitement galore during the cross-country events too. The skiers will ski several shorter rounds in the new nine-metre wide ski tracks, so that spectators can cheer them on. In addition, there will be jumbo screens, circulating commentators, live music and reports from athletes and the public.
